The 414W3 was evaluated first but the DMR specifically required “a mechanical brake within the drum assembly” \u2014 and the 414W3 does not provide it. The 415W3 closed the compliance gap. After 8 months of production winding at 380 cycles per day, the brake holding test shows less than 1% degradation from the factory acceptance value. Oil analysis trending clean.
